Oloontare Site Profile
The school and community used an unprotected spring, which was heavily contaminated by livestock and other human activities. During the dry season, the spring’s yield drastically reduced causing severe water insecurity. Toilet uptake across the villages was good with about 70% of the households having toilets. In the primary school, toilet facilities were not adequate and often learners practiced open defecation around the school due to the long queues at the toilets.
