Though water was piped from a nearby spring, the flow was inconsistent and frequently failed. The school often went without water for days. The community similarly relied on this spring, which was exposed and unsafe. Toilets were old and few in number, with no handwashing points and no provisions for girls’ menstrual needs, affecting attendance and dignity.
